You've got mail!...(post mail)

So I FiNALLY got my very own copy of "A Delicate Balance" book in the mail Tuesday! Took it to get it signed on Thursday by the author and the illustrators (my 6th grade honors kids) I'm so far barley on Chapter 5 because of all the HW I have to do (sigh) but I am loving this book! Totally want to give it to my little brother to read. Don't really want to get in to too much detail about the book until I read a couple of more chapters, but so far I like what I've been reading =]

Sooo this whole week has been super hectic! Had my 2nd show which was sooo not a great one, had a whole bunch of HW to do for my Human Development class, Theatre self-critique papers, Journalism stories to write and Human Sexuality HW! Booooy was it busy, so far I've got everything under control, at least I like to think so...

Acting class scene "Extremities" is coming along well, my scene partner and I have been practicing A LOT! Specially after class since we have to do "stage combat" I guess you can say. Let me tell you practicing getting your hair pulled back like 300 times is so tiring! I've got like bruises all over! Lines are almost perfectly down. Performance night is on Monday so I have to squeeze in an extra rehearsal before Monday comes. I really want to rock this little scene, this is my chance to prove I can do serious dramatic acting. I'm planning on video taping it, hhhmm we'll see...

Journalism, uuugghh totally suffering from writer's block! I have noooo idea what person I'm going to write about, well I kinda do, but after being picked on in class by the professor to share my idea and telling me I don't think you should do it doesn't help, soo eehhh we'll see, story is due Tuesday I believe, so I gotta think of something ASAP! -xoxo a.

ENCORE ENCORE ENCORE!

Sooo, it's been awhile since I've updated! Been suuuper busy with tons of homework (suppose to be doing it right now, but you know procrastinator me) ANYWAYS! My showcase show was performed last Wednesday and it was a success I guess you can say. Even though we did not fill the whole auditorium we were asked to perform AGAIN this Wednesday! This time it's going to be video taped for student records, meaning I BETTER get my lines right this time. Such a complete shocker to me when I forgot my line for the FiRST TIME! SADFACEEE! =[ I need to get it right FOR SURE this time, well there's always a first time for everything right? Well other than that I felt it was a good show.

Also this week a dear friend of mine wrote a book and finally got it published and printed. The cover was drawn by two of my 6th grade honors kids! She showed it to me on Tuesday, as I was glancing around on her Acknowledgement's page I was really surprised to see my name on there! I was ever soooo surprised and soooo happy! All my kids in the class cheered and whistled it was such a great moment for me. I got a little "aawweeee I feel special moment." I just ordered my copy of the book on Wednesday can't wait til it gets here to read! For anyone who is interested in reading this book here is the link:

So far everything is really great. Working on a new scene for my Acting 110 class, it was hard for my scene partner and I to find a scene for the both of us. My acting teacher told me to choose something challenging for myself, since I've been pretty flexible with roles, so we decided upon the play "Extremities" and boooy is this going to be a challenge! Just what the doctor ordered right? I asked my scene partner to choose between two of the scenes I had in mind the first and the second. I wanted to go for the second, but he went for the first. Lets just say the first will definitely be a challenge =T sooo I am going to take it! I watched the movie during the week and it is an intense scene. I don't know how we are going to pull it off, but we shall see here's the clip of the scene:

we aren't doing the whole clip, we are stopping around the time where Raul suffocates Marjorie with the pillow... yup! Soooo we'll see how that goes. xoxo MB

I’m going to be in a MUSiCALish…

So at SAC I enrolled in to the Showcase Acting 198 class. Since it sucks we have no money to do any full productions because of the budget cuts, a performing class was offered to keep the Theatre alive at SAC. What musicalish are we doing? Well it is a showcase that will consist of variety types of scenes taken from different types and genres of plays. There is something for EVERYONE!

In this small showcase we are starting off with “WELCOME TO OUR WORLD” written by the amazing Sheryl Donchey! Giving the audience a glimpse of what Theatre life is like the audition process we go through. I will be doing the dance and monologue portion of the “audition” process. I will be doing a movie monologue playing Sugar Kane from the movie “Some Like It Hot!” I guess you can say I’m excited about it, I would of liked to find a PLAY monologue, but then again I don’t have time to look and memorize a new one because of the crazy schedule I have. ANYWAYS! Small scenes from Lysistrata , Midsummer’s Dream, A Raisin in the Sun and…GREASE!

=T… Well this is the first musical I am doing and honestly it isn’t exactly the FiRST musical I would want to jump right in to do, but then again I thought this is probably the closest thing I’ll ever get to be in a musical. I believe I am a horrible out of tune singer! Oh well its like my baby boy says “It’s an experience” hahaha well here’s the info if ya’ll want to come and check it out =]...
